Support Ukraine
Russia’s war against Ukraine, which began in 2014 and escalated to a full-scale invasion in February 2022, is now the largest military conflict in Europe since WWII. During the 2021-2022 academic year, I was working and living in Kyiv, Ukraine on a Fulbright grant. Like so many others, the war forced me to leave Ukraine and relocate to Poland. It was during my time in Warsaw that I first started working in the sphere of humanitarian relief, something I had never done before. While there, I quickly learned from experts how integral local, grassroots networks were to successful humanitarian action when bigger organizations lacked insight and know-how.
Since February 2022, I have served as an academic advisor to the humanitarian group forPeace. The forPeace team is composed of individuals who see it as essential to integrate with already existing Ukrainian networks who know their land, people, and needs best. We have worked hard to partner with our Ukrainian colleagues and listen to their needs in order to provide them with essential life-saving goods. Our organization fundraises money in order to help, and every penny that is donated goes straight into Ukrainian communities. If you are looking to donate money and support Ukraine as they battle to survive Russia’s brutal and unprovoked war, then consider donating to forPeace.
